753626 2009-03-05 05:06:00 I have just made a very costly mistake.
:confused:I brought the Linksys WRT610N Router because I thought it was a gateway router. Meaning it can connect to the internet. But NO, you need to connect it to a gateway router which means more $$$$'s and more cables, more clutter, more hassle.

Does anyone know of the existence of a Dual-Band wireless draft n gateway router model?

753627 2009-03-05 05:10:00 What do you mean?

You just plug it into your modem.....

753628 2009-03-05 05:23:00 That means buying another modem. I bought it to replace my modem that's crapping-out all the time. supersi (8401)
753629 2009-03-05 05:25:00 Modem and router are different things....was the modem originally crapping out, or the router?

You didn't waste your money BTW.....

You can just buy another modem cheaply.....or if you ring telecom they might give you a free new one...they gave me a free one:)

753630 2009-03-05 05:33:00 In case you havn't read my initial post. Let me repeat.
I want an all-in-one wireless modem/router that supports Draft n and is dual-band.
I don't want a seperate modem and router for the reasons I stated above.

It's a fairly simple question.

'Does anyone know of the existence of a Dual-Band wireless draft n gateway (gateway, as meaning it supports PPP0A for the internet) router model?'

753631 2009-03-05 05:40:00 Wouldn't it be easier just to buy another external modem....less money wasted!

Anyways....Linksys WAG325N or WAG160N

753632 2009-03-05 05:54:00 That would bring the grand total to around $520.00.
I think I'm going to RMA this as their advertising wasn't that clear.

And I'd still like to know the answer to my question...
