2009-03-11 00:13:00 | Hi A little orange icon has appeared in my task bar informing me that there is a Java update ready to install. Wot's Java for? Do I want or need this update? I guess what I'm really asking is is it safe to go ahead with it?

2009-03-11 00:15:00 | Java is for browsers. Look in add/remove programs for Java (TM) 6 update xx If xx is lower than 12, uninstall the version you have then update it from the site below Its a good idea to keep it up to date, since older versions have vulnerabilities

2009-03-11 02:23:00 | I said it in the 2nd post vulnerabilities, if you leave it installed (even if you install the latest version), you WILL still get hit by whatever the vulnerabilities were Heard of byteverify before?? That was one

That was one That's stupid. Why doesn't Sun automatically uninstall your old versions themselves then? |

2009-03-11 03:22:00 | I also find it odd that they wouldn't remove older versions when updating. But anyway, I also have a couple of programmes called Java 2 Runtime Environment and J2SE Runtime Environment which I assume should all be removed as well?? | Oose (14303) | |
