I have found a web I.R.C program (CGI:IRC) to use on my website, but it doesn't connect to the IRC Server, it has this error: *** Welcome to CGI:IRC 0.5.9 (2006/06/06) *** Looking up <IRC Server> *** Connecting to <IRC SERVER> [<IP>] port 6667 *** An error occurred: Connecting to IRC: Connection timed out (60 seconds) What is the problem? |

| 755168 | 2009-03-10 03:32:00 | Basically CGI:IRC (AFAIK) is just a web client, much the same as if you downloaded mIRC to your PC. You'd need to have something actually do the initiation for you and it sounds like this wont do it. In a nutshell, unless you're clever enough to create an ssh tunnel to your home or VPN (Provided VPN / SSH arent blocked also) then you're probably fresh out of luck ;) |

Here's something i found in the readme: CGI:IRC is a Perl/CGI program that lets you access IRC from a web browser, it is designed to be flexible and has many uses such as an IRC gateway for an IRC network, a chat-room for a website or to access IRC when stuck behind a restrictive firewall. I'm behind a restrictive firewall! |

| 755171 | 2009-03-11 00:36:00 | If you're on a shared web-server, it'll probably be locked down to prevent outbound IRC connections, as IRC is commonly used if a server is compromised to control malicious code. Your web-host would be able to confirm if that was the case. Use www.mibbit.com |
