2007-07-24 08:25:00 Apparently it will revolve around the Office ribbon in Office 2007
Larson-Green was pivotal in the dramatic redesign of Office 2007, which ditched the long-established model of menus and toolbars - which had grown cluttered and out of control over two decades of development - for that single integrated and context-morphing ‘ribbon'. Few could argue that Windows isn't in need of a similar cleanup job - the iconic overload of Vista's Control Panel is a prime example of a once-friendly UI turned ferral.

2007-07-24 10:20:00 I guess MS won't be moving to a touch screen UI for a while. winmacguy (3367)
2007-07-24 11:04:00 I for one love the new Office "Ribbon" interface so it would be quite good and interesting to see how they translate that into the rest of the OS as well. Good times ahead I hope:thumbs: beeswax34 (63)
2007-07-24 11:09:00 Although I don't use Office 2007, I would have to say that any design that keeps the UI clean and simple would have to be a good thing. winmacguy (3367)
2007-07-24 11:21:00 Yeah the new ribbon interface is pretty good. Took a little while to get use to it but so far its atleast as good as the original. Although the original Office interface wasn't exactly broken. Have noticed a difference when using 2003 on my laptop and 2007 on my main PC, but i find the same difference with XP and Vista. It took a little while to get use to how the interface of Vista works. Pete O'Neil (6584)
2007-07-24 13:03:00 Looks like I'm gonna need an OS change, I uninstalled office 2007 within 2 minutes of installing it.

Have Microsoft gone mad? They're going to outdo Apple in making computers easier to use!

2007-07-24 14:32:00 But the main question still is: Will the bring MS Bob back and Clippy too?:D:D But seriously, the last point about running programs in "sandbox mode" seems to be a fantastic way forward. beeswax34 (63)
2007-07-24 18:46:00 I wonder if it will be anything like this
