| 570607 | 2007-07-20 22:28:00 | Has anyone looked into Vodafone fixed line rates? these seem to be very competitive with line rental just 39.95(on 12 month term or 42.95 no contract). Also land to voda mobile calls at 0.15 capped at $1.00 for 30mins. I rang them on Thursday and am still waiting for there "team " to ring me back. Has anyone looked into it or signed up to it? I am currently with telstraclear for all land lines and internet so I thought I would ring them and give them the chance to match or offer something better, no chance, didnt really care so I will take my $500p/m elsewhere. Also gave telecom a crack, what a joke. I will also be looking for a new b/b supplier 5gigp/m who should I go to? Mike |

| 570608 | 2007-07-21 02:16:00 | You a business? If you're a Vodafone mobile customer and sign up to Vodafone Business Fixed Line and Business Calling National $0.12 $0.50 $0.09 $0.50 Vodafone mobile $0.32 $1.00 $0.15 $1.00 Telecom mobile $0.38 n/a $0.30 n/a I prefer my Ihug $20 per month tolls. But then I'm not looking at business plans or Vodafone mobiles either. As for internet, then Xnet for sure. |

Ive had nothing but trouble with them both in New Zealand and Australia . If youre getting a littlie irritated waiting for them to call you back when youre a potential customer, just wait until you are a customer and need some help or a fault fixed . It may take weeks, months, or not at all . |

Personally I don't like companies that fix you into a long term contract . I also don't like vodafone due to past problems with them in both NZ and the UK . I personally would go for a NZ owned business (unlike vodafone which is UK owned) so much of the money you will be paying will stay in NZ and helps our economy . You could try xnets telephone services . Our economy needs a lot of help at the moment so I am all for supporting real NZ businesses, and not multinationals . |

| 570613 | 2007-07-21 07:48:00 | Telecom isn't exactly NZ owned although Xnet sounds like a good deal. I had heard that it is mainly owned by NZ mum and dad shareholders these days. It used to be owned by some US telecom companies, but they got out of it long ago. |

| 570614 | 2007-07-21 07:56:00 | That will be some mum and dad shareholders who are not getting much for their investment but I guess that what you call playing the share market. Sometimes you can win big and other times you take a bath depending on how you pick your investments. | winmacguy (3367) | ||

Will unbundling help my business tolls and land to mobile calling? that is what I am really interested in. I am sick of getting raped by Telsra. There seems to be a few people here that have had a bad run with Vodafone! Surely it would be difficult to find a perfect company? All companys are guilty of some customer neglect |

| 570616 | 2007-07-21 09:15:00 | In short unbundling should financially benefit your business. The idea behind unbundling is that your not forced to get a phone line from Telecom for $43 a month that you may or may not need to use with your BB that costs you an additional x$ depending on your ISP. In theory when the networks are finally unbundled you will be able to just get BB from your preferred ISP at the cost of x$ which you will then be able to run Skype or other VOIP software over which will take care of your telephone calls which will also be MUCH cheaper than they are now + you will have your BB internet which will be the only expense so you win both ways. |
