| 754956 | 2009-03-09 06:33:00 | Hey, Does anyone here know of a fix for Windows XP with SP3 and connecting to a PPTP VPN? I have a client with a VPN server that I can connect to fine with a Vista machine or a XP machine with SP2. Using the same login details on two other different machines on my network, that have fresh installs of Windows XP Pro with SP3, both get Error 619 and won't connect. They sit there for a long time with 'Verifying Username & Password' on the screen. If I check the VPN server log it says something about GRE failed. I have done all other usual testing like turning off firewalls, AV software etc. Doing some searching on the net and it looks like there is a problem with SP3 and connecting to a PPTP VPN. Any ideas? I am going to call Microsoft tomorrow to see what they say. Cheers! |

| 754957 | 2009-03-09 06:51:00 | Does it show event id: 619 and/or 721 in event viewer? One of the MS forums say to install this (support.microsoft.com) |
