756472 2009-03-15 03:01:00 Anybody know where I could get a PSU for one of these (www.welland.com.tw) external HDD enclosures?

Yes I know the USB connection is bus powered but I want to use eSATA.

www.instructables.com

PcuserWinVista has tried it before and it works

756475 2009-03-15 03:23:00 Can't you just use esata, then use the USB as power? Blam (54)
756476 2009-03-15 03:28:00 System I tried it on didn't like it as it was detecting both the USB and eSATA connections as data interfaces and couldn't decide which to use. stormdragon (6013)
756477 2009-03-15 03:37:00 The USB cable is a Y right?

756478 2009-03-15 05:13:00 When I tried that previously it didn't seem to provide enough power. stormdragon (6013)
756479 2009-03-15 05:22:00 Have you tried another port? Blam (54)
756480 2009-03-15 05:24:00 Tried front and rear ports at the time. There is a jack on the rear for a DC PSU input so that's what I suppose I need. stormdragon (6013)
756481 2009-03-15 05:34:00 My friend has an external esata drive that works perfectly with a USB power cable plugged in....could you try another cable? Blam (54)
