| 756381 | 2009-03-14 22:51:00 | Outlook Express does not show any of these settings. It is set the same as my Hotmail and, as I said, mine works... | ianhnz (4263) | ||
| 756382 | 2009-03-14 22:57:00 | If your hotmail account is pretty old, thats probably why it works. If it was a recent hotmail account, if you tried to add an hotmail account into OE, it wouldnt let you. It would bring up errors (unless you paid for it) Altho, I think this changed recently Which could be why yours is different, from what Blam posted |

I accessed the accout, from their website, no I get a different message, so problem solved. Thanks all. Could not connect to Hotmail as xxxxxxxx@hotmail.com. | 756384 | 2009-03-14 23:13:00 | Get a Gmail account, its free, and it'll let you add it in OE / whatever email client Add it as a IMAP server . Then you'll see the folders in OE (the same folders, that are on the Gmail site) Or add it as a pop server, sign up to Gmail, and forward the Gmail email to your ISP's / normal email addy (in prefs on the Gmail site) . That way, if you get email through Gmail, it'll go to your normal email addy The only thing with Gmail is, it can be fussy with exe files (it can delete them), if it think its a virus or something . So, you may have to have to change the exe extension, to something else (like txt) . The other person at the other end, will have to rename it . |
