| 573545 | 2007-07-28 12:17:00 | I would like to build a new website related to my computer sales business, but I've found I don't have the time for the coding (it's a reasonably advanced project), or the design skills to design it. So, I am looking for somebody who can code well in php or asp/asp.net, and someone who is good at designing websites. If you can do both, that's great, but either task by itself is useful to me. I can pay for this work, but not anywhere near the rate that a professional web company would charge. We can negotiate the money, but I would like to spend $200-300 total between the two tasks. Obviously this will seem pitiful to programmers who make $40 per hour, but I am looking for (most likely) young people with spare time and a need for a few hundred bucks. Examples of work you have previously done would be helpful. If anybody is interested in helping me with this, please PM me and we can talk. I will leave the specifics of what I am doing out of this thread - that's for the PMs. |

To be honest, if someone is willing to do what you've briefly outlined for that much, they're probably not going to do a very good job of it. Sorry for the dig but yeah, you're right - nowhere near what a web company would charge but I would expect as a freelancer at least a budget twice what you've proposed. |

| 573548 | 2007-07-28 14:00:00 | I also know people who are desperately looking for a web developer to help put together a CMS system for local community site, along with phpBB forum (need to transfer old data over to new site). Price is open at the moment as far as I'm aware. Anyone interested, also PM me too :) Cheers. | techie (7177) | ||

He was directing that comment to you, mate. How lucky! :p I suppose you are looking for professionals only and not amateur ones, George. (Not that I want to do it, of course) Stu might have something to say here. Cheers :) |

| 573553 | 2007-07-29 00:42:00 | Really, you need an extra 0 on that price. If you are going to make money out of it then paying the designer a fair price is part of it. Don't forget you might be able to get it off your business tax as a capital expense. |

| 573554 | 2007-07-29 01:27:00 | ...and just to be clear on a point, I was being super-friendly on the "you should at least double it" as other peoples stab at the opening budget are more realistic. | sal (67) | ||
