I used to have a dishwasher. Then she moved out.
More info needed as usual.
Without knowing the symptoms I can not help.

Without knowing the symptoms I can not help.Dunno if anyone can help in this case - all I really wanted to know is who the heck can I go to to get the damn thing fixed.

But for what it's worth, the machine is a three-year-old Indesit D62. It was running fine the day before yesterday. Then missus put in a bottle of Finish cleaner to rinse/clean the machine. It overflowed with froth and foam, which she thinks was due to her pulling the tab completely off the cap. She pulled the machine out of it's cubby to wipe up, then replaced it.

Now, when switched on to run a wash the motor seems to be running but no water is going through. It just hums away and no matter what setting we try the cycle doesn't start.

Naturally I've checked the pipes into and out of the machine and all looks fine. The filter is clean.

Grr.

:annoyed:

573300 2007-07-27 20:54:00 An appliance repair technician. I don't know if they've got a branch in Auckland, but I've used a company called "Butler and Hewitt" lately to repair a dishwasher and ceramic cooktop. Prompt and good service, and wasn't too expensive either. somebody (208)
573301 2007-07-27 20:58:00 Anyone who repairs whiteware (fridges, washing machines, etc ) SHOULD be able to repair it. Though as previously suggested. you'll just have to let your fingers do the walking (yellow pages) Myth (110)
573302 2007-07-27 21:17:00 We contacted a firm that sold our brand. They gave us a list of 'preferred' tradesmen...probably those who carry out repairs on their products still under guarantee, although ours was long past that date. Marnie (4574)
573303 2007-07-27 21:58:00 An appliance repair person.

My husband is a plumber and he can't understand why people think he could or would want to fix dishwashers and washing machines.
