572585 2007-07-26 08:09:00 As a 16 year old, I'll try to add in my input. I found I reached "materialistic satisfaction" around that period of time and asked my parents to stop buying me presents as I didn't really need anything.

I did, however, keenly want a new bike soon after my birthday so asked for that and got it. IOU's are good.

I'd recommend Airsoft. It's fairly expensive to get into but the games themselves are nice and cheap.

572587 2007-07-26 22:52:00 You lot with the sarcastic unhelpul comments. Just shut it. Be thankful that you have perfect kids. Or have you? When you are unlucky enough to have a 'damaged' child, life is not a picnic.

never u mind........I feel for you. PJ:annoyed:

572588 2007-07-26 23:25:00 Hehehehe . Actually my son has an absolute love for cars (muscle cars etc) I could get him something to do with that . Boys high actually does boarding school but lol not something I would do . Hes actually a really great kid to have around . . . . as long as hes not angry . Tattoo . . . . . ahahahah no waaaaaaay . I asked him about paintball last nite but said he doesnt have enough friends to make up a team . Hes not very social .

We get out (hire) a PS game every week on Fridays but hes running out of games to play . I know heaps of people think its wrong to not be out in the sunshine and playing sports etc but as I said before PS is probably the closest hes going to get .

Does anyone know anything computer related that has to do with creating games or small films etc????? Animations sort of thing, he uses pivot at the moment because both of us don't know what else is out there .

572589 2007-07-26 23:41:00 I know with Unreal Tournament 2004 PC game on some editions (Editors Choice Edition) you can make your own maps. You can even download heaps of maps of the net that other people have made. Its a shooting/ blowing up game so don't know your views on that sort of thing. Its less violent that that car game where you rob pimps etc. You need a good computer and video card to display the graphics but i run it on a P4 2.2ghz, 512mb ram, Ti4200 graphics card. Its a lot of fun running around shooting aliens and robots. You can even make your own skins for the bots.

How about a digital video camera. Then he can make his own movies and upload them to youtube. :)

572590 2007-07-27 00:20:00 How about a nintendo wii? Lots of games involving waving your arms about.

Blender (http://www.blender.org/) is a free app that can do amazing things...if you take the time to learn it. It ain't an easy learning curve & I gave up pretty quickly :) But if your son gets into it there is a lot of growth potential there, he won't soon run out of ideas using it.

some other graphics freebies dogwaffle (www.thebest3d.com) inkscape (www.inkscape.org/) paint.net (http:) gimp (http://www.gimp.org/)

572593 2007-07-27 05:29:00 Big thanks for the Blender link, my sons quite excited about it and will give it a good go tonight and check to see if I downloaded it correctly. I thought it be real cool to see if I could work it out before he got home from school. I got as far as making the cube thing rotate, and even found a monkey face. ....... then I got over it. Would have been more successful if I read the instruction but meh ...... ill wait till he figures out how to use it and get him to teach me lmao. never-u-mind (6500)
