| 572566 | 2007-07-25 08:36:00 | Actually, I'm thinking of getting myself a beginners acoustic. Any recommendations for full-sized under $NZ200? For under $200, beginners, you can get a fairly decent one. I would hunt around 2nd hand shops or trade me, always inspect before buying. Google the make and model to check out oprices once you've decided. Thr rock shop will beat any price you will find for new gears:thumbs: |

Hmmm im going to look into something like that. Its very hard to get an Aspergers child to change their focus but if its in the same area of interest might be sweet as. |

Ive read so much about it but to be honest havent been here (this site) before so will be interesting. Thanks again for all your suggestions, have heaps to think about, hopefully my son will also put in some thoughts, other than .... happy with what ever.... very frustrating! He went through a stage where all he wanted was rocks. That was an easy couple of years. |

| 572572 | 2007-07-26 00:07:00 | Hi never-you-mind, My post was not intended to attack you, i was having a ftw day. It's very hard trying to find something that a 14 year old will like cause at that stage they have so many phases. One of those remote controlled cars looks cool. I want one :D . It would be good to get him something that takes him outside into the fresh air and socializing. Ps2's and xbox's are cool too though. Have you asked him what he wants? Cheers. Edit; just read previous posts and thought how about a microscope or a telescope? |

Edit; just read previous posts and thought how about a microscope or a telescope? Nah you didn't offend me, heaps of people think that way . Sounds great I would love to have one of those cars as well :p My son however doesn't like the outdoors or socializing too much lol . He doesn't want anything . But I wanted to get him something long lasting that not only will he enjoy but has some kind of educational value, a computer or some software or something along those lines . Telescope would be real cool as would a microscope . Thanks to you guys I have a few things to at least tempt him with . I wanted to get him a bedroom suit or some paintings or posters for his room but yeah hes not fussed . Wanted to get away from the CDs PS2 games as he can buy that stuff himself . Perhaps I should just go outside and get him some rocks! :D |
