Sorry to talk politics but this is the only forum I know of where people are both intelligent and reasonably serious.

Aside from all his antics did David Benson Pope ever do or say anything constructive to do with his job as Minister For The Environment and Social Development ?

I do not recall ever reading about him or seeing him on tv or the radio. Did you ?

New Zealand has a long history of poor governance by incompetent self serving politicians and sadly I can't see it getting better in the forseeable future.
One of the first benefits of moving to Brisbane was no longer seeing Helen Clark nightly on Television hectoring the population on deviating from her politically correct vision of NZ, and criticising all who did not agree with this vision. I had to constantly fight the urge to throw something through the screen of my own TV.
