| 756278 | 2009-03-14 08:37:00 | I have sent a couple of e-mails with attachments from my desktop machine (XP SP3 and Outlook 2007) to my Tecra 8000 laptop (Win 98 and Outlook Express). It went from and to the same e-mail account. Although the time taken to download (at the Tecra end) was commensurate with there being an attachment attached, and a paper clip is displayed, in the message list (but not in the message header, itself), following the two methods in the 'Help' (In the preview pane, click the paper clip icon in the message header, and then click the file name. -or- At the top of the message window, double-click the file attachment icon in the message header.) fail to open the attachment. The attachment's file type is normally openable on both computers as the software exists on both. Any ideas? Cheers. |

| 756279 | 2009-03-14 09:57:00 | I have the same problem sending invoices to my customers who use Outlook Express as I am using Outlook 2007. What you need to do is make sure that your are sending emails to the OE clients in plain text only. You can set the email type to Plain Text under Tools - Options - Mail Format BUT you also need to check that, once you have put in the email address, double-click it and make sure that it is set to 'Send Plain Text Only' under Internet Format. |

Cheers The setting will remain under the Tools menu but I always have to remember to double-click the email address and check there each time I want to send an attachment to an OE client. |
