| 756789 | 2009-03-15 18:24:00 | Hi I have a computer with 3 gb ram and 1 250 gb hard drive and 1 40 gb hard drive On the 250 gb HD i have windows xp installed On the 40 gb hard drive i have windows 7 beta installed Now heres the problem I had an idea that if i partition my hard 250gb HD then i could install stuff on that and let xp have its own little hard drive of its own to do its own stuff. So i bought partition magic After folling the steps i it told me that it needed restarting to do its thing So i restart my computer Load windows xp And it starts The first thing it says is that it cant load something for the keyboard and that it will be done in non-interactive mode Seconds later it comes up saying that it cannot lock the hard drive error 27 I now cannot boot into xp and i cant skip the partition magic process because it has disabled my keyboard (which is strange becaues it asked me to push any key to restart and the keyboard works for that time) I can still acess the 250gb HD by loading windows 7 Is there anything i can do to skip the process? Like delete the file that tells the computer to partition my hard drive? Or do i have to back up all my files and format the hard drive? |

Or you could have used gparted Now, try this: 1. msconfig and DISABLE all startup programs 2. DISABLE all pagefile settings, Screen Saver, Diskeeper/defragementer schedules 3. Safemode into admin account and run Partion Magic 8 And disable AV in safe mode, may be locking the drive. Blam |
