Quite a useful post. Did anyone think the law will work to acheive the desired result? Most people go within the law and some people bend or break the law. I also think I heard on NewsTalkZB a fifth person has been arrested and remanded without bail. |

| 574220 | 2007-07-30 07:24:00 | I've been working hard to stay away from these types of threads because my views will not be clouded by political-correctness, or racial-tolerance.... ...but if TV1 news is to believed, a neighbour saw the 3 year-old on the roof?? These neighbours should be in court as well. By not "narking" earlier on what they had seen and heard, they are as guilty as the four already in court. Just when......nah. Better stop. |

Families B, C, D and E gets the blame too. What the hell? Ummmmmm. A Whanau is an extended Family. Of course, you attribute this, I would think, to Pita Sharples. www.parliament.nz Not that I know. as you say,"that guy from the Maori party" So I happen to be a child in Family A. Family A has to go off to work as they happen to live in Manakau and have a huge mortgage. They then hand me to Family B and etc...... And of course, as you actually know what happend as you were there, were you not? Go sit down and be Judge, Jury and Executioner. Now please bear in mind that just because charges have been laid this does NOT make people guilty. One would think that the Police Force should have enough evidence to prove the case. Lately it appears that the Police do not always get it right. If I had been accused I would not like people on the Jury to have their minds made up before listening to the witnesses. |

The anti smacking law was never going to prevent child abuse as seen on ouy TVs at the moment. Only a green dreamer would believe that. PJ |

A smack does not end up with a 3 year old being in Hospital or dead. Unless I use a baseball bat. Or I could use a closed fist in the wrong area of the body and the result could be the same. And as I have mentioned. This matter will get to Court. The child was a 3 year old female. Subjudicie. |
