573991 2007-07-29 17:51:00 It seems that there's an upstart activity concerning software services . There are others beside this one . . but this is an iceberg here . . it only appears small on the surface . The need or want is there to get rid of expensive and buggy-programs-that-need-an-update-and-hotfixes .

I will say "Google" and you see where this is going . There are others though .

G-Spread sheets, G-Word, G-Office, G-Mail, G-everything . . . . .

In direct competition with Google-World . . . . these brash new upstarts (Site) ( . salesforce . com/) (Reference) (http://en . wikipedia . org/wiki/Thin_client" target="_blank">www . salesforce . com/) (Reference) (http:) look like the advent of a non-installed OPSYS is very near and very soon to happen .

The only concept I see that has flies in it is that the data may be outsourced to lands or operators who don't take security seriously enough for people to appreciate .

Web-based applications also makes it look like we are moving to time-share activities . . including the data storage for a fee . . . this is a very slippery slope here .

When, oh when do you feel that Google will start charging for archived files?

Recently we had the Orange County California Sheriffs . . . . (where 90210 was filmed) . . . store arrest/citation records, license numbers, date-of-birth and the last four digits of the offender's Social Security number on file in Mexico . This hit the fan with a very loud "plop" . This was all approved by the Superior Courts in Orange County . . and this is being reviewed by the California Superior Courts for legality and security issues .

Buying this site-responsible service on a pay-as-you-go basis drops the need to buy an OPSYS from companies that have names starting with M . . . . . . and this may be at the crux of the problem .

The second-most valuable man in the world won't go down gently methinks .

Can "The Matrix" be far behind?
