2009-03-22 09:39:00 | i could be wrong, but depending on the voltage calcuations of some psu's they don't equal out at what they say they are. We had similar systems, although I had 4 gb ram I was running a 500w psu and that was too slow for mine, I had problems saving and burning. I've since upgrated to a 650w psu and since then have had no problems. Unfortunately this is a costly test. See if you can borrow one with a mate or see if a store will let you try it out. | Kaelene (14725) | |
2009-03-22 09:42:00 | You may need a higher PSU - 700-750w | Speedy Gonzales (78) | |
2009-03-22 23:06:00 | Maybe your PSU is rubbish or the HDD power connections are loose. Did you ever run memtest? If you never try what we suggest you'll never fix the problem. | Agent_24 (57) | |
2009-03-23 06:11:00 | Hey, i think you guys are right, maybe voltage problem, but i can't afford a PSU right now. i just baught a hdd. anyway, i'll try what i can do and let u guys know. and if it's not from PSU, than what else can be the problem? | crazy4sunshine (14724) | |
2009-03-23 06:14:00 | and if it's not from PSU, than what else can be the problem? When you buy one then try it, and if its still doing the same thing, then we'll tell you

2009-03-23 06:47:00 | Well, if the 1 TB hdd has windows on it now (if you reinstalled / did a clean install). Unplug / disconnect ALL of the other hdd's Then see how slow / fast it is

2009-03-23 09:32:00 | That sound might be the HDD spinning down/up due to a bad power connector. Are they tight? Try wobbling the power connector with the PC on. Does the HDD make the sound?
