573945 2007-07-30 10:45:00 Please... it drives me nuts. I admit I'm a complete pedant, but what's the point of having a clock at all if said clock is incorrect?

I'm with Bletch here.
I'm glad you brought it up again.

I used to put my oar in every time this subject arose.
And it happened so regularly I soon lost count of the number of complaint threads.
So I became accustomed to being criticised for caring that the clock was wrong ( e.g."moaning/whingeing/pedant" ) and frankly didn't give a stuff - especially as some of the critics had fixations of their own on topics I found unimportant.

WHY the clock bothers some of us & not others is immaterial. What matters is that it does - and we're allowed our irritation about it as much as any other PF1 niggle
(Smileys? Who cares?
I don't, but wouldn't post criticising those who complain if they're not working or demand more choices)

Earlier in the year, there was a joyful thread welcoming the fact that the clock was finally correct. It lasted about a week, I think.
.
It was 8 minutes slow when I went away for 2 months - and 20 minutes when I got back. And getting slower...

I know Bletch & Foxy have kept niggling, so time I had another burst in support.
Every foot soldier helps, I hope.

573946 2007-07-30 13:26:00 Everyone does realize that we have a perfectly accurate clock on the bottom right of the screen right?

That said, I'm with Laura. I might not like these threads but after seeing all the computer talent on the forum and running the PF1 servers, how on Earth can we not have an accurate clock? Avatars yes, accurate clock no???

And here's yet another prod for the forum gnomes from this foot soldier.

573948 2007-07-31 01:41:00 Clock? Call that a clock? It's more of a nervous tic.

Or - is it just a variable history note?
Any correlation between the "clock" and real clocks is purely accidental and not intentional.

573949 2007-07-31 02:30:00 Sheesh!

I must be the only one who doesn't give a rat's arse about the forum clock .

Makes me think I'm missing something exciting! :p

Lmao

I also am annoyed with the clock. If it's out it would be better not to have one at all.

573951 2007-07-31 03:35:00 The PC World clock is as accurate as it needs to be and my processor runs at 785 THZ (well, near enough).

How do you get time on your hands with digital clocks?
R2x1 (4628)
573952 2007-07-31 03:55:00 All you need is Eccles's piece of paper (pressf1.co.nz/showpost.php?p=409024&postcount=-26). Graham L (2)
573953 2007-07-31 04:02:00 like i've said before, the sooner you all adjust the time on your PC's, the better.

From now on we will assume the forum clock shows the correct time, and you'll just have to set your own watches to ours.

there, problem solved

573954 2007-07-31 04:04:00 And tomorrow morning the sun will rise on yesterday evening ;)

Ok, I have adjusted the time to (fleetingly) match the Forum clock. Enclosed please find the sum of one shilling and fourpence, this being my annual subscription for the next 19 issues.
