574498 2007-07-31 09:38:00 I don't like Sony NZ, and find their customer support poor. I am still waiting for them to get back to me regarding a repair on my LCD TV that has a problem with the speakers. I contacted them in February, and I have a job number, but no one has got back to me to pick it up for repair. I will get back to them before the warranty is up, as it is not a major problem. Well call them, keep on their back, that will put the pressure on rather than you just leaving it... even though it is not that important...

Call them and say you still havent seen your replacement - see if they'll send a third one :)
Chances are every time you call you will speak to a different person so see if all of Sony's staff will send you one - just as a test of course..........They will have call logs and all they will need to know is your name and bang, every call you have ever called in about and even any if they have called you is all right there in front of them...

574499 2007-07-31 10:57:00 This comes down to colour of right. Did you contract for the extra PS3? No. So in law you do not have colour of right to keep it. Sony have made a mistake - everyone makes mistakes.

Good on you for already realising that. Tell Sony and let them arrange to pick it up.

Similar situations occur when money appears by error in a bank account. Every now and then people are prosecuted for spending such windfalls because they cannot show they had any reasonable expectation of the money.

Hope this helps.

574500 2007-07-31 21:27:00 I would love to keep it but the better half of me has sent an email to the contact at Sony informing them of their error.. Before I speak to them and try to negotiate some small freebie from them e.g a game - for the good lady's time and effort :)

Come on, you got the PS3 already as a gift. Then they send you another by mistake. Just send it back.
Talk about greedy.

574501 2007-08-06 03:48:00 To anyone who is still remotely interested..

The PS3 went back late last week...Powerstore( where I bought the telly) couriered it back for me.

A vote of thanks to those who helped answer my query.

And for those that call me greedy for trying to tease a grossly overpriced six axis wireless, glow in the dark controller out of Sony.....Relax....:stare:
