| 574415 | 2007-07-31 06:30:00 | On a different note, i dont think prison is a strong enough deterent these days for crimes, they weigh up 1st the change of getting caught, the possibly of getting off, and lastly, oh well, its only a holiday for a couple of years. There was a doco on Sky about this. There was hanging, hands etc being chopped off, flogging, guillotines, and so on. America when new decided it was all barbaric and they'd do something new. Reform people. Until then prisons everywhere were only for debtors. Course it didn't work out like that. Nor did flogging, hand removal and execution eliminate crime either. |

Basketball courts? I'm a citizen who works part time, and I pay tax to pay for these bastards' meals, plasma TV, and basketball courts? I'd rather treat the ants in my house with all the sugar they'd ever want!! Seriously, who's the idiot making all these cuts? Someone (preferably me) needs to give him/her a fist to the jaw. Does he/she think they're doing us a favour by accommodating prisoners with facilities even the ordinary kiwis don't have? |

He would have been taken out the back of the courthouse and shot on being found guilty. As it is, the families of his victims as well as you and me (the taxpayers) have the privilege of paying for his board and lodgings and quite probably, his surgery. Justice? Hardy Har Har! |
