| 758406 | 2009-03-22 03:59:00 | I was having some trouble with running some avi files with WMP 11 so I downloaded WMP Classic. Now this will fire up as a stand alone .exe program and works OK but is there anyway to INSTALL it and get it recognised as a Windows program so that I can right click on a file and choose "Open with...". | tuiruru (12277) | ||

Made up a folder, called it the same, Windows Media Home Cinema -- ( this version one extracts several files as well) As shown here (www.imagef1.net.nz) - then cut/paste the folder and dropped it in the Program files. Then when you right click the file you want to play, Open with/ Browse to the folder in the Program Files, find the .exe, then select make sure you put a tick in the box saying " always use this program ( different wording for different OS's) but means the same - and away you go - now opens that type of file every time with WMHC. |
