| 758217 | 2009-03-20 20:51:00 | Anyone had any experience with Vista wireless unable to connect with an error Local Access Only. It seems as if the wireless network does not pick up the modem IP Google search shows it seems to be a common problem with Vista and it appears as if there is no specific fix for the problem. Adding the IP to the wireless connection works for a while but then reverts back to local access only. Suggestions to disable IPv6 works for some people. Obviously Vista wireless works ok for some people so why is the problem so widespread. Is this some sort of bug in Vista wireless networks. |

If it works OK with no security, then add it back in, starting at the lowest and working up till it stops, then go back one step. |

I got good at it, knowing exactly what to do. Since I set static IP address, the problem hasnt reoccurred. That was however on a wired port of my 4port&wireless modem/router. That worked for me but if I understand correctly you have done that when you say: Adding the IP to the wireless connection works for a while |
