576159 2007-08-03 08:08:00 I can see that it could have some useful applications, but every bluetooth phone that I have come across seem to have a very counter-intuitive way of doing it and it never seems to work!

So is it just a gimmick? Do you have bluetooth? If so, have you ever got it to work?

(Note: I'm only talking about bluetooth on mobile phones)

576161 2007-08-03 08:56:00 Yes, I use it all the time to synchronise my address book and calendars, transfer files to and from my phone, as a remote control and as a modem if I am holiday and need internet access. Very handy. maccrazy (6741)
576162 2007-08-03 10:00:00 Yup, I use BT to sync my computer and smartphone all the time. Works like a charm. Also good for exchanging songs/games at uni with people in the same room:thumbs:, when you're really bored:D beeswax34 (63)
576163 2007-08-03 11:27:00 Yup, I use Bluetooth headphones on a daily basis to listen to music, and have have used it to hold telephone calls . I've also transfered files, anything from ringtones to songs (which takes a while, so is not recommended!). Pretty much the saving grace of my V3x, which I would otherwise have kicked to the curb a while ago...

Trying to link with other phones can be a PITA though, and sometimes won't work.

I'm considering getting a smaller one-ear piece just for phone calls, but then I'm a sucker for gadgets!

Oh, and don't buy them from mobile shops- their markups are astronomical- my headphones retailed for $250 when I got mine on trademe for $70... the one earpiece unit is estimated to be $120+, and I'm looking at $45... Go figure.

576164 2007-08-04 00:04:00 Like everyone else I sync phone to computer for contact lists etc.
It's also the way I use the internet, bluetooth iBook synced with bluetooth 3G phone plus vodafone data plan.
