575212 2007-08-02 10:41:00 Interesting, 2 years ago my phone cost $700, Aint no way in hell I will be replacing it within the next year.

And if I discovered replacing the battery required returning the phone I would return it for a refund immediately.

Why don't you just take a second to get real instead of always jumping to the defense of crap just because it apple branded. Are you so insecure about the crap you like that you have to dedicate your life to promotion and defense of poorly designed over priced crap?

575213 2007-08-02 11:46:00 Sounds very much like what happened with the iPod battery replacment saga. I am not sure what the big deal is with replacing the battery on your phone though, I still have the same phone that i bought about 3 or 4 years ago with the same battery in it and it works fine.
Sounds very much like it's not an iPhone.
Your membership fees in iFanz will be dearer after that leaks out.

The Mobile Web Versus The Web On An iPhone: iPhone Wins In A Blowout
On June 29, 2007, Apple released the highly anticipated iPhone to the public. Forrester evaluated the iPhone's capabilities, and we believe that the iPhone signals the beginning of the end for the mobile Web as we know it today: Stripped-down sites crammed onto the small screens of devices meant for phoning, not browsing, will become a thing of the past. Companies looking to stay on top of this trend should get iPhones and experience their capabilities for themselves. Going forward, firms should continue to experiment with the mobile Web sites they own today in order to learn how to create content that is timely, location-aware, and actionable for users on the go.

and what has that got to do with the iphone battery? oh, and the nokia e70 browser is better than the iphone's too

575215 2007-08-02 13:04:00 So are the HP iPAQ's:thumbs::D beeswax34 (63)
575216 2007-08-02 13:06:00 but as for that battery, while i'm sure standard Li-ion technology is better than that, being good for >1500 charges and whatnot, and that for the price of the thing you'd better hope it's li-ion, i don't think it's a big deal:
so what if after two (lets be realistic here) or three years you need a new battery? the damn thing will be obsolete/unfashionable/lost/broken by then anyway!

but,
hold on, US$818000000 profit?!

i always thought that iProducts were expensive, but not THAT expensive!

then again, i shouldn't be surprised when iIdiots are willing to spend a small fortune on a crappy phone and then pay another US$108 while it gets it's bi-annual battery change

575217 2007-08-02 20:48:00 I don't know how many charge cycles a Nokia or Sony Ericsson normally gets out of a battery, perhaps kenj would care to post a link?

Sorry winmacguy, I can't post a link on phones. I have one I carry for emergencies (health reasons) but use it very little. I think mine is a Nokia "El Cheapo"

Last month I only made 1 call plus 2 texts. No good asking me!

I just enjoy winding you up!!!!

I believe maccrazy was just clarifying a few points that were incorrect in the article.
