1436609 2017-06-23 11:26:00 Hi Team

I am up to date with version 3.0.6 (Premium) but MWB seems to ignore that and keeps on nagging me to download and update.

It is becoming an annoying nuisance, but I can't find a way to stop it. I have tried downloading but that didn't do anything, probably because it scanned my installation and saw it was current.

Is this a wider problem, my continued use of XP Pro, or is it just my system playing up?

Cheers

1436611 2017-06-23 22:05:00 Got a customer who had similar. It was wanting to update all the time and register after a renewal, Even though he had paid and it said it was registered, it wasn't till after he went back into his account & re-registered that it finally stopped being a PITA ;)

Its almost as if it wasn't actually connecting correctly and reading the data base.

Looks like version 3.0.6 is not to good. Reading the comments at the end of www.ghacks.net

Tried version 3 a few weeks back to see what was new, uninstalled it rather quickly as it really was to unstable.

re the XP--- While it can run on XP, its not fully working, as per the system Specs. ( bottom of this page) www.malwarebytes.com

UPDATE:
I discovered how to stop MBAM from nagging that a new version is ready for installation.
It does that because the new version has already been downloaded to a hidden folder, which MBAM sees and wants to install.
In Windows 7, you need to un-hide hidden and system folders.
Then go to users --> all users --> application data - Malwarebytes.
Inside that folder is a file called mbam-setup.exe -- and that is the installation file for the new version which MBAM keeps nagging to install.
Delete that file and then go into the MBAM settings menu and under Update Settings make sure the box marked "Check for program updates..." is UNCHECKED.
Also - don't forget to re-hide your Windows system folder in Windows Explorer.

1436612 2017-06-24 08:56:00 I have the same problem with version 3+ of Malwarebytes. Keeps nagging that the files are out of date. It should update itself as the setting is to search and update automatically. Otherwise it works well on W10 Pro. mzee (3324)
1436613 2017-06-28 03:57:00 I had the same problem on premium (paid) but after a few days and updating twice, it went away. Digby (677)
