"Older members will recall that in the heyday of PC World there used to be free gifts given away to those thought deserving on PF1, such as T shirts with PC World written across, various softwares, a multitool, even a Palm Pilot and lots of other goodies, like a free years subscription to the magazine, there were also competitions with good prizes to be won...............those were the days."

I was wondering how far back you have memories of F1?

My first memories of F1 (It may not have been called that.) were of very small text questions on he left hand side and a small square image on the right hand side (W95\W98 days!)
The language used was fairly technical and a bit mysterious to a "newby " like me!!

1436245 2017-06-04 08:23:00 I still have a Ducati-branded (Made with Sandisk) thumbdrive that they gave me one year, along with a Krumpler backpack that's been used basically every single day for a decade now (I think it was Nov 2007 they gave me them?). Some of the longest-lasting gifts I've ever had.

I also remember a bug in the old PF1 software, that every time a new user signed up to the Forums, it would **** itself and require restarting :D Fun times...

1436246 2017-06-04 14:16:00 How many years to go before my PC World CD case becomes a vintage? Only ever been used as a drink coaster but was a nice gift for doing what I liked, sharing knowledge. Also having your answers written in the PC World magazine or Netguide was also something to be proud of.

As with all communities though, this place holds memories of those who once shared with us and I will never forget those who had a huge impact in the fascination I discovered with computers. Those who pioneered the first computers here lived a dream I wish I was apart of.
