1436824 2017-07-02 11:18:00 Any idea on how much it would cost to ship a desktop, Auckland to Dunedin? Which company would you guys recommend? Cato (6936)
1436825 2017-07-02 21:32:00 Assuming you are talking about a PC & not the top off a desk.
Measure the area it would take up if packed into a box.
Weigh it & put the info into

1436826 2017-07-02 21:48:00 Castle Parcels!! In Penrose, you will have to take it out there.
About $12 - $15.

Done it many times with them, they're the cheapest for large parcels I have found.

They are a division of mainfreight. It gets delivered at the other end by Post Haste.
But the difference in price between Post Haste and Castle Parcels is a lot.

$15, that sounds great! Thanks!

Would you be brave enough to ship a monitor?

1436828 2017-07-03 06:03:00 You can ship anything if it is packed properly and of course not dangerous to transport. CliveM (6007)
1436829 2017-07-03 06:04:00 Monitor....as in en.wikipedia.org

1436831 2017-07-03 21:02:00 My brother sent his old monitor up a couple of months ago to me.
Arrived no problems, it depends how you pack them. :-)

1436832 2017-07-03 23:34:00 Do it at your own risks!

Friend of mine received a PC (in its original packaging box) sent to him from Australia by his brother, when he opened it, everything seems to be fallen apart! The mid-tower casing was dented quite badly, the CPU heatsink came off, even the SSD was not in it's housing bay!

Having said that, I once received a monitor sent from Christchurch (after warranty repair) was in pretty good condition! Maybe I was lucky!

1436833 2017-07-03 23:43:00 I once worked at a courier distribution centre and got the chance to see with my own eyes how those parcels were handled!

Will never send anything which is 'fragile'!
