| 1436311 | 2017-06-08 05:14:00 | I have a brand new HP Notebook 12g RAM; 2.2gHz processor; separate Radeon R5 graphics. Reluctantly with Win 10 Home/Bus installed. I bought to replace my old laptop (4g RAM; 1.0 processor) which had almost ground to a halt. This is no better. Why? Very slow to open not only website pages but Word and any other program on puta. System says I have 1.26g! available of RAM when I only use for emails, skype and online health and shopping searches. Apart from MS programs pre-installed I have only downloaded EST security suite. But my main issue today is the screen flashes and has grown from a quick flicker to larger, longer flashes. Perusing the net I see that this is a Win10 upgrade problem the solution to reinstall Win 10. But I did not upgrade it was installed at new. Should this still happen? Dont want to reinstal if there is another option. Suggestions please Thanks |

| 1436312 | 2017-06-08 06:01:00 | When a New Laptop first goes on the internet it will upgrade with any available updates, this will be because the Laptop may have been manufactured a 6 months to a year ago ( or longer) and at the time was the latest, so any upgrades /updates need to come in. This can cause lag /slowness. BUT the screen flashing and the memory reading incorrect doesn't sound right -- Take it back to where you got it, sounds faulty. | wainuitech (129) | ||

| 1436316 | 2017-06-08 22:49:00 | A brand new notebook will be absolutely laden with (non MS) preinstalled CRAPWARE . :badpc: It will have a trial version of McAfee or Norton preinstalled (could be fighting with Nod32) . It may have 5(yes) installs of Office 2016 + 2 other Office Suits (seen it) . May be : trial versions of Cloud backups trying to run, non MS system ~optimisers~ running + other programs possibly phoning home Go into control panel, programs & features , and start uninstalling the crapware . Also, look at scheduled tasks , & run MSCONFIG to see what programs are trying to load when win starts up As mentioned above, it will be installing alot of updates as soon as its connected to the internet : that will slow it down. But that will settle down after a day & many restarts The screen shouldnt be flashing though : could be a hardware fault or WinUpdates installed a buggy new driver . Go into the bios setup (or boot from a CD) & see if the screen still flashes then while in bios (or booted from CD). Seriously consider getting a SSD installed in it . That will be the no.1 upgrade that makes a big speed difference. Some of the HD's in notebooks are the cheapest/slowest available |

| 1436317 | 2017-06-12 06:39:00 | My apologies for the delay in replying but my connection died. sighhh I had previously removed all the bloatware and McAfee etc before installing ESET suite. So in desperation I decided to try the win10 reset to initial Win10. Four hours later I was delighted to find the flashes stopped but still slow and NOW NO Connection!! despite all my other devices connecting just fine. So I did the complete reset back to original install. 7 hours later! Still no connection. its going back!! thanks Guys |
