| 758929 | 2009-03-24 04:26:00 | Hi, Installed drivers etc from cd as per instructions,rebooted, and got an error message..........AegisE5.dll ....file missing,re install file to fix problem. Got hold of the file from the net,its a zip file,but have no idea as to how to install it in the system directory as directed. I'm running Vista home, and there is no sign of a zip extractor on my machine, I would welcome some ideas to help with this problem. Also, do I disconnect the ethernet cable during set up of the wireless or after its all done. Thanks Hook |

Then go to start/run / wherever it is in vista and type regsvr32 aegisE5.dll You'll probably have to unzip it first, (unzip it in the folder its in, then copy it to the folder above). Use 7-zip (www.7-zip.org) Its free, and will probably work |

The 7-zip addy worked just fine, thanks for that Speedy. So, apart from the missing file,which is fixed, the card needed drivers to run on Vista, I contacted Asus and they sent me the drivers, cool, all I need to know now,is how/where to install them. | 758932 | 2009-03-25 20:06:00 | It really depends on: What make / model card you have What drivers you've got from Asus Generally speaking if you go here: support.asus.com Download the WiFi drivers for your device, chuck them on a thumbdrive and put them onto your Vista machine that requires them, you should have a "Setup" file somewhere which you can run and it'll take care of the lot :) |

| 758936 | 2009-03-26 03:48:00 | Thanks for the help and suggestions folks Well I've given up on the Asus card,it didn't matter what I did,the computer just refused to recognise it. Also because I found out that I have an onboard wireless Lan.I've spent some hours trying to get it to work,but to no avail.The onboard one is working properly,so the computer tells me,and its drivers are up to date, but blowed if I can actually get it to connect. Any ideas would be most welcome. I was wondering if the problem is maybe with the router settings. Unfortunately I'm dealing with something I'm unfamiliar with. Thanks |
