758828 2009-03-23 23:20:00 Hello all,
My computer has developed a strange habit of throwing cherries at me for about 1 minute whenever I go on line. It sounds like a child sucking on a cherry balloon.i have scanned my computer with Trojan remover,PC tools anti virus, and Malwarebytes.
They came up with a few faults but I still have the fault.
Can you give me any ideas? Also is Windows Firewall safe enough or should I use something else?

Uninstall all versions of Java, its out of date, then update it. Link below

I would check what sound its on under sounds in control panel.

758832 2009-03-24 00:16:00 Skype maybe making that sound.

It makes a similar sound, when you run it

It maybe the toolbar (if you installed it, since you hear it, when you run a browser), thats doing it

758833 2009-03-24 00:35:00 Thank you,
I have done all that you have suggested. It may have been Skype as there has been someone trying to reach me.
What about a Firewall?
rodnbel (14097)
758834 2009-03-24 00:40:00 If you dont use P2P programs / dont go to dodgy sites, and youre using a modem / router (youre on broadband).

I wouldnt worry about a firewall. XP's should be good enough
Speedy Gonzales (78)
758835 2009-03-24 00:45:00 Sype makes a sound everytime you startup and someone goes online.

Thats prob it
Blam (54)
758836 2009-03-24 01:05:00 It is Skype. Choose a different login sound in Skype's control panel and you'll realise it comes from there.

758837 2009-03-25 02:06:00 Thanks,
I must have done something wrong as I turned the comp off when I went out and when I came home and tried to start it it froze when the desktop appeared.
I am using my laaptop to send this message.
Rod.
