577908 2007-08-10 23:03:00 That's what I noticed with whatever version of Linux I tried. Even if you download the latest iso, it still wants to update with another 150 or so mb of files. Why can't the latest, be the latest without the need to download more for a while. Just my :2cents: intel hunter (6666)

That's the idea... people moan about Msoft's 'patches', I've found so far with Linux (of any flavour) you just have to have faith when you click the button. Maybe it will be alright... maybe it won't.

Last night I was thinking (after downloading 150mb of something!) maybe I could use this PCLinux as my main box (it really was almost useable!)... today looking at the blinking cursor I'm thinking maybe not :)

'The latest' is a freeflowing and everchanging thing... especially when it is put together by about 20,000 beavering (s'cuse the term) lil penguins scattered across the globe.

Heck, if you're like me and actually got the latest you'd be disapointed that there was nothing more to aim for:D

577911 2007-08-11 00:27:00 And yes- 2 days with shiny new PClos and I've managed to stuff it by following instructions :DI wouldn't worry about that lol. When I first started out with Linux, I lost count of the number of formats I did

Linux does what I want, eventually, after downloading at least 150MB of something firstWhen MS issues a patch, thats what you get, just a patch (which you then hope has done its job). When Linux issues an update, it is usually the complete programme you are downloading (so instead of having Gnome 3.14 for example, you now get Gnome 3.14.5)
