I have no intentions of trying to stop anybody else but for me enough is enough. I for one do not want to be totally reliant on China for everything. I shall remain a Kiwi first and foremost and support Australia and New Zealand in maintaining some sort of national identity. We are in danger of losing everything that makes us who we are! |

I don't trust Chinese health & safety procedures. Nor do I wish to buy any product that is sourced from/made in such a polluted environment. |

I'm quite happy however, should my decision influence others. Especially in light of recent poisonings from food products in China. I just phoned Eta (Heinz Wattie) to tell them as much, on their feedback line 0800 653 050. |

We live in a country who eats whitebait caught in rivers such as Buller. a river traditionally fed by sewage. Only last year was any treatment of the towns sewerage done before dumping in the river www.bullerdc.govt.nz What BDC aren't mentioning is that the towns stormwater and sewerage still has little seperation, so whenever there's a good rainstorm raw sewerage is again plentiful in the Buller. Of course it never rains hard on the West Coast :p Enjoy those fritters people, and don't eat any dangerous foriegn foods will ya! |

Easy - you can usually see the mold or bacteria on the nuts, so if it is black/whatever, stay away. Any mold or bacteria in quantities too low to be seen will not cause any harm. Now I did get a bit sick eating too much raw nuts - as the guys also loving raw nuts may attest to. Horrible times, but it will never stop you from having more. LOL sarel |
