| 759410 | 2009-03-25 07:00:00 | Hi, I'm looking for a version of ubuntu that has kernel version 2.6.22 is there a page somewhere that has the list of ubuntu releases with their kernel versions? thanks |

| 759411 | 2009-03-25 07:06:00 | Any recent release of Ubuntu will use a newer kernel than this - 2.6.22 was quite a while ago! Are you looking for that exact kernel, or is a newer one also OK? |

(not a linux expert)It should be compatible. What device are you trying to get working? You can also use the Windows drivers with ndiswrapper if the linux drivers aren't working |

| 759416 | 2009-03-25 09:00:00 | I have Debian Linux installed on my laptop which uses the same card. I used ndiswrapper. According to this page (help.ubuntu.com), the later versions of Ubuntu have a problem with ndiswrapper and the drivers for this device though |

I haven't installed linux my laptop yet Any recent kernel should work perfectly with that card, so I'd recommend you just grab the latest one. Note also that the bcm43 driver is depricated; you shouldn't be using it. You should be using the b43 driver on the new (mac80211) wireless stack, which is now the default. You will not need to install any third-party drivers, and you will not need ndiswrapper, but you will need the runtime firmware files for it. There is a fwcutter package for obtaining these; it should be in the default ubuntu repositories. Myth, ndiswrapper is now depricated too - it uses the old wifi stack. |
