| 758707 | 2009-03-23 04:59:00 | Hey I've been stuck with a rather obnoxious problem for a while now so I'm turning to you all for some help. I recently had my friend build me a computer using parts from tigerdirect.com I've been having a few minor problems. The most annoying being I can't hear sound when playing a couple games. There's only two games I can't get sound on. They are Unreal Tournament (I know it's the latest one w/e it's called) and marine sharpshooter 3. All the other games I have work perfectly. Examples: Oblivion, Genesis, Star Wars: Empire at War, even the older games like Tiberian Sun and Starcraft. It should be noted that the sound card tigerdirect.com sent me doesn't work. That was build into the motherboard. Since it didn't work i disabled it. Naturally, I bought a new sound card and installed it. (XtremeSound) that's all i know about it... Is it possible those two games are trying to connect to the device in the motherboard without connecting to the separate one? Anyways, this is way over my head to try and fix something like that. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. |

I assume you did remove the old audio drivers and install the new ones for the replacement card ? |
