| 758617 | 2009-03-22 21:36:00 | OS: Vista Home Premium Machine: HP Pavillion dv6000 Stop Error: 0x0000007E (0x0000005, 0x883AA402, 0x87199B58, 0x87199854) 1. Performed the HDD self-diagnosis test (from BIOS setup), hdd failed the test. 2. Took out the HDD, connected it to my desktop machine, causing my desktop to hang while loading Vista. What does the above stop error suggest? |

| 758618 | 2009-03-22 21:48:00 | If its SATA, did you go into the BIOS (on the desktop) and change the bootdisk? When you connected it, it may have changed the bootdisk in the BIOS, (to the above hdd), which is why it hung, when you tried to boot into Windows And if it hung on the desktop, its probably because the hardware isnt the same |

When loading Vista OS, it hung at loading windows screen. Put the HDD back to the dv6000, tried to reinstall (repair) Windows, half-way through, the above stop error appears. |

| 758623 | 2009-03-22 22:35:00 | Umm you didnt change it from SATA / ACHI to IDE in the BIOS, then change it back after did you?? It'll crash Altho, you shouldnt have to do this, if its got a restore partition (to restore Vista). |

It'll crash Altho, you shouldnt have to do this, if its got a restore partition (to restore Vista). Didn't chnage anything in the BIOS settings. The original (from HP) HDD has been replaced with this one a few months ago, there's no restore partition. |
