| 577099 | 2007-08-06 07:41:00 | I sell and install LCD & Plasma TVs. For choosing a LCD TV My picks in order of quality and reliability and service is something does go wrong would be... Panasonic, Sony, Samsung, Phillips, Toshiba. We don't have any in store but I see Sharp has some models that have been THX certified. They all have their advantages and disadvantages. Panasonic don't really do much in the way of LCD but their new model 32" has 100hz picture motion pro which helps to eliminates shadowing. Probably the best brand for reliability, very rear to see a Panasonic LCD or Plasma for that matter come back because of a fault. Sony's KLV32V300A Contrast ratios are superior to other brands. they also have the Bravia colour engine which is highly rated. Samsung make nice LCDs especially their S81 and R71 series, but we have had a few problems with their older models lately. Philips have got a new model at 5ms pixel response rate, where as most of the other brands are 8ms. But we have had a few of their older models come in for repair. Toshibas also have a great picture but aren’t that great if something goes wrong. I agree with Hitech go with a more reliable brand. |

| 577101 | 2007-08-06 07:56:00 | I bought a 46" Sony the other week and I'm happy with it so the 32" version will be good as well. One thing. A couple of months ago NZ Consumer did a reader servey about TV reliability . Philips came at the bottom.. So buyer beware |

| 577103 | 2007-08-06 08:07:00 | Nah I wouldn't go with acer. That Philips does look ugly, I don't like the speakers on the side of the TV. The Philips Ambi light ones are ok, they also have Pixel Plus which smoothes out the edges of the Pixels. Save your money and get a Sony, get the V series, should be around $2000 they are good, the D and X series are better again but they are priced accordingly. Or get a Panasonic. Go with the latest model what ever brand you wish to buy otherwise you are getting old technology and when it comes to LCD screens you want the latest, as they are getting better and more reliable with every new model. It will be added insurance in the long run. My advice don't be hasty |

Just remember that any screen you buy in that price range is not going to be true HD (1920x1080p). They will most likely be something like 1366x768. |
