759525 2009-03-25 11:09:00 A new folder has appeared on my desktop today and I have no Idea where it came from.

It is named "Events" and contains 6 .ini files, 6 .txt plus 2 .flg files. The ini files are subtitled "Configuration Settings", while the text files have names like, 2008829204118.INI_LOG.txt.

I had a "Virus" the other day so I am concerned by anything unusual.
Any ideas what it is?

They may just be made by av AV program/AntiSpyware

Comodo firewall was the program that detected that things were amiss; saying that behaviour could indicate a kernel level hook.
I ran Avast anti virus, Super anti spyware and Spybot S&D, without finding a thing, so I installed and ran Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes quickly found and removed the offending files and said it would save a log file, but I was so relieved and tired that I took a brake without reading or even looking for it.

There is nothing in the text files in question to suggest a connection to any of the programs I mentioned. they contain lists of entrys like the following,

06/06/08 19:00:05,Event Started Ok, (user name)
03/10/08 19:00:01,Event Started Ok,Unable to run application=2 (user name)

There are 15 to 20 lines per file and the dates go back a year or two.

It is not Malwarebytes. The logfile is contained within the program and bears no resemblance to the "events" folder.

759529 2009-03-26 02:03:00 Hmmmm bit odd - what you can do is remove the folder, either move it to a USB drive, then delete it to the recycle bin, and dont empty it - try the PC for a day or so if no problems empty the recycle bin. If something doesn't work put it back. wainuitech (129)
