| 579598 | 2007-09-11 04:54:00 | I have never had any iPod units before, and am a newbie to iTunes. Is there any way to get art work on to the nano without buying it from the store? I am thinking along the lines of all my MP3's that I already have on my PC. I am rather dubious about using my credit card just to register as it can be a nightmare, trying to refute a charge that an on-line store may put against your card. You don't have to pay for the cover art, but you do have to enter your credit card details to be able to download it. So far I have never been charged by apple. However I did have a dispute with them after I purchased quicktime a few years ago when they were operated by apple australia. They charged me australian GST and then said they couldn't refund the GST. Eventually they agreed to refund the GST but it was a nightmare for just a few dollars. |

| 579600 | 2007-09-11 05:16:00 | Being an mp3 virgin, and needing (specifically) an iPod to work with the new Alpine stereo I had installed in my car yesterday, I shuffled :p into Noel Leemings in Lower Hutt yesterday to begin my quest. The amazingly arrogant prick there informed me that new models were released last Thursday, and I need to wait until stores get them. I asked if I could purchase "old" stock, as I didn't want anything flash or "latest"....seems not. Went to Dick Smith....shelves were empty....and no staff to ask. So gave up on the mp3 hunt. Guess the cherry will have to wait a bit longer before being popped. Don't want to buy online as I need to ask questions and have a play before buying. What model head unit did you get? And where from? I have been thinking about this for a while |

I haven't had any problems with having my credit card details with the store. The store does have a little pop up on the initial request when your wanting to download cover art to pre existing tracks as opposed to purchasing tracks and downloading the cover art, but I haven't had any credit card related problems in this regard. The only thing I will say is that purchasing music from the store can become rather addictive as it is too easy to do. ;) Just a note regarding cover art on your existing music collection, its availiblity from the music store can be rather a hit and miss affair with more misses than hits depending on your music tastes. |

| 579602 | 2007-09-11 05:37:00 | What model head unit did you get? And where from? I have been thinking about this for a while Alpine CDA-9883E. Car Stereo Company (Lower Hutt). $449.00 My research indicated that Alpine is a highly-compatible brand to use with MP3 (iPod). And it's a damn good brand regardless of that! :p It's not bottom-of-the-range, and it's not top. Somewhere around the middle. Just drove from Wellington to Wanganui and had it on loud and Abba never sounded so good. Yes...I am THAT old! |

Pffft.....dont worry. Say charge isn't yours and as they can't show your authorisation your bank can get rid of it. Depending on the amount you'll probably find they'll just write it off anyway as the transaction reversal process is not cheap for banks. If you have the choice, use a MasterCard instead of Visa or Amex. Different rules apply to get rid of a disputed charge. |

I have ABBA Gold (Including Cover art) in my collection. It was actually my wife's but I like some of their stuff and they are from my generation too. I also have Rammstein, Pluto, Evermore, The Eagles, U2, Barry White, Rhombus, The Clash, The Cure etc - very eclectic. |

| 579605 | 2007-09-11 06:01:00 | Abba does it for me as well. I turned 60 last Feb & my grown up son thinks it's neat, that I am interested in MP3's etc. Clapton, Hollies, Eagles, all things from the 60's & a bit of Hayley Westenra thrown in. What A Voice! MasterCard is what I have, what is the difference for that when it comes to a dispute? |

A lot of my original music tastes came from listening to my dads extensive vinyl collection - now CDs, plus what the guys at school used to play. I have two Chicane CDs - Behind the Sun and Far from the maddening crowds - after I heard the first one on my Dads stereo. He is pushing 74 yrs.. I also enjoy listening to Sarah McLachlan a lot. As for Hayley...gorgeous. :) |
