2007-08-14 01:59:00 | Have decided to hold off until the update is out. Sounds like late August / early September is when the update might come out. Leopard is due out in October or there abouts. I haven't seen any rumours mentioned about when the next iPod nanos will be released but will keep a look out. Apple may end up releasing the nano in time for the US Labour Day holidays (start of the US Christmas shopping season).

2007-08-14 04:19:00 | Leopard? From what I heard, the nanos were due out Aug 7th. It didnt happen so I think they pushed it back to Sep 16th (but that could be a rumor, cant remember)

2007-08-14 04:38:00 | Leopard(10.5) is Apple's next OS after Tiger (10.4) which is the current one which I use. I would doubt that Apple would release any iPod nano updates until after they have released Leopard unless they release the newly designed nano very quietly or at the up and coming Paris Mac World (France). It is all about effective timing of product releases. | winmacguy (3367) | |
2007-08-25 02:59:00 | I tried to buy an ipod Nano last Saturday but they were all sold out in Masterton. I emailed the imported/distributor (renaissance) & they said Apple has a world wide shortage & they could not give me an ETA, just said to keep an eye on the retail shops. I rang the 0800 number for Apple & was taken to the Australian Online Shop, where they said they could sell me one right there. It would arrive in a couple of days. I said no thanks, I support buying from my local business. A rumor is in circulation that Apple are releasing new/updated ipod products very soon & shops are selling off old stock. When one looks on the Dick Smith website, you see all ipod products (except shuttle) as "clearance product". After seeing that, I fall into the camp of New Release Coming. Who owns ipod products & what are your opinions on them?

2007-08-25 03:45:00 | They are due to announce new ipods on the 5th september Source: Major Apple event on September 5th Apple's new line of iPods will indeed be introduced in September, in line with recent speculation and rumors. But contrary to the report provided by AppleInsider yesterday, the announcement will not be happening mid-to-late September. The company plans to drop the bomb on us with a major unveiling during the first week of September—specifically, September 5, according to our sources within the company. arstechnica.com My guess is that it will be iPods with OS X on them

2007-09-10 21:39:00 | Being an mp3 virgin, and needing (specifically) an iPod to work with the new Alpine stereo I had installed in my car yesterday, I shuffled :p into Noel Leemings in Lower Hutt yesterday to begin my quest. The amazingly arrogant prick there informed me that new models were released last Thursday, and I need to wait until stores get them. I asked if I could purchase "old" stock, as I didn't want anything flash or "latest"....seems not. Went to Dick Smith....shelves were empty....and no staff to ask. So gave up on the mp3 hunt. Guess the cherry will have to wait a bit longer before being popped. Don't want to buy online as I need to ask questions and have a play before buying.
