759869 2009-03-26 21:44:00 That will be because the drivers for the model of the Video Card will preloaded into Windows 7.

If Windows 7 didn't know what the graphic card is - it wouldn't load any drivers.

What you need to do , is open the device manager, expand out the graphic's, right click and update the driver - then point it at the location of the driver you want to install.

OR just install the driver from the CD/ download you have.

I know exactly what you want to do - stop it loading in the first place - but thats part of Plug and Pray - as mentioned before - you cant disable that other wise the system will become unstable. Unless there is some setting in your Mother Boards BIOS.

759870 2009-03-26 21:56:00 I having problems with the driver it is pre-installing. it wont detect my screen, but when i click uninstall and theres no drivers at all, it detects my screen and lets me use it at the resolution it should be at. pantera989 (14533)
759871 2009-03-26 22:47:00 Have you tried loading in the drivers than came with the graphic Card, or the latest from the manufactures site? wainuitech (129)
759872 2009-03-26 23:35:00 I have tried the latest , and i've tried 5 other older versions, i don't have the orginal disk that came with the card though. A friend of mine suggested the chipset drivers could be at fault, so im going to try get new chipset drivers, and see if that makes a difference. pantera989 (14533)
759873 2009-03-26 23:49:00 Its possible - But also remember Windows 7 is BETA - unfinished, buggy, so this sort of thing can sometimes happen.

I got problem with build 7057, which doesn't happen in the public Beta - sometimes it wont see the LAN PC's other times it does ??

759874 2009-03-27 00:05:00 I just don't understand why it started doing this when I have made no software/hardware changes, and have all updates turned off.

I had this same problem about 6 months ago when i tried to put a genuine copy of windows home premium on this same computer, and gave up trying to fix it and put tiny XP on instead which i have been using up until i put windows 7 on 2-3 months ago.

759875 2009-03-27 00:52:00 I had this same problem about 6 months ago when i tried to put a genuine copy of windows home premium on this same computer Thats starting to sound more like a hardware problem rather than software - unless of course there is some program thats installed and causing the problem.

See if this will shred any light - Click on Start, Type in Reliability, in the results you will see "View reliability History" - click that - where any errors are there will be a red circle with a white X click it and it will tell you whats failed.

759876 2009-03-27 01:03:00 On the 26th there is a critical event:
AEADIFilters service hang report

Theres also a big list of "successful driver installation" under informational events from when i reinstalled windows and noticed near the bottem that this was listed "Generic Non-PNP Monitor" which doesn't seem right.

Then for today under warnings there is a unsuccessful driver instalation for "Nvidea Physx v8.10.13

759877 2009-03-27 01:36:00 Most monitors come with a Driver CD, install those drivers - maybe W7 Cant figure out what monitor you have and its loading default drivers.

What Make of monitor do you have ?

759878 2009-03-27 02:50:00 Chimei cmv221d that ive been using for a year with no problem, it didn't come with drivers, just a manual on the CD. Also when i have no graphics drivers installed at all, it detects the screen just fine. pantera989 (14533)
