| 580230 | 2007-08-23 13:55:00 |  You don't even know me or anything about me and you're already jumping to conclusions . I'm not immature - I'm average maturity, like everyone else . Besides, three years for a learner license? What are you on about? Six months is plenty . Some people can learrn to driv in a week if they put their mind to it - not that I'm saying the learner license period should be a week, I'm just saying that people don't take three years to learn to drive unless they are lazy, get a license then don't bother with lessons, or are just complete imbeciles - none of which do or will apply to me . any idiot can learn to operate a car and obey the road code in a week true, but experience is something you only gain with time - and experience is what one needs to avoid and handle accidents . Every driver thinks they're good (or average) . very few think they are bad and keep driving . my point is that no-one can be their own judge . you may think you're good, when really, you're so bad (or arrogant) you don't realise you cause someone to panic every time you get out there . while it may not be the case, you will soon see that all drivers, especially the speeders among us think themselves to be "good" drivers (myself included) . begin rant - not directed at anyone and a bit off topic just tonight i saw a boy racer (not speeding) have his front right mag explode on the north western . he hit the median barrier and then limped across to the shoulder . an asian guy who got a bit of mag wheel under his car stopped and sat there; he didn't even bother to look at what it was, and soon gave up on finding his jack (in his boot, where he could be crushed) . stupid man was in the middle of a 4 lane motorway, waiting for some miracle to remove the metal from under his car . sure enough the first cop on the scene yelled at him to "just drive" and after a couple of metres the metal worked it's way out . somehow this man thought it was better to sit on the motorway, at great risk of further accidents possibly involving his car being rear-ended, than to have a piece of metal scratch the belly pan of his car . it's like sitting in a lion's pen at feeding time with a sore ankle and not running/limping for the door because you might hurt it:angry with logic like that it's no wonder there's so many accidents - he thought he was doing the "right" thing, when really he was putting himself and his passengers and other road users at risk . (and i've yelled at some people on hillsborough road who had nose-to-tailed and stood around swapping details while their cars were still running . i had just passed over 5km of stopped traffic to find the cause was these idiots not removing their cars from the roadside . ) /rant |

| 580231 | 2007-08-23 18:41:00 | Me die? I suppose it's inevitable. Just as sure as the fact that you're immature. Suggestion... wait a few years and look back at this thread and you'll notice, my oh my, how childish you in fact are. Maybe. You say you're fourteen years old? Grief, pull the other one!Greg, you are completely mis-reading people's comments. The "You die" part was just Marian stating that if you did have a seizure while driving, then you could die. She was not, saying "Greg, you die". I seriously think you need to take a long walk and come back when you can be more civil. You have been a lose cannon in various threads recently and it does not reflect kindly against your character. Anymore of this, I will give you an enforced time out. |

I'll do my penance with suitable humility and swear off fermented fruit of the vine for a year . Um, ok, realistically, a few days . Um, well at least until tonight . :( ps - loose cannon? Um, I think more like a wayward intercontinental ballistic missile . ;) |

Actually, I WAS saying 'you die', as I don't like people saying things about how immature I am, my ability or inability to do anything or saying things about my medical condition. Especially people like Greg, who doesn't even know who I am, has never met me, knows hardly anything about me, and is judging me already. That really offends me and I take great offense to people who do that. If Greg doesn't want me to insult him, then he shouldn't insult me! And by the way, my name is spelt Marion, not Marian. Oh well, loads of people make that mistake, I suppose YOU can be excused. |

Suggestion... wait a few years and look back at this thread and you'll notice, my oh my, how childish you in fact are. Maybe. You say you're fourteen years old? Grief, pull the other one! Listen. I am NOT childish. I just happen to be very offended when people like you who have never met me, don't know me, and know hardly anything about me make nasty comments about how mature or immature I am and about my medical condition. If you don't want me to insult you, then don't you insult me. You say I'm childish? Why don't you take a look in the mirror! then you'll really know the meaning of the word. According to one of the administrators, you have been causing trouble on several threads so that should say something. Pull the other one? What the heck does that mean? |

| 580235 | 2007-08-24 03:46:00 | I agree totaly with Sue maybe start driver training from 12. tedheath Hmmm... I wouldn't quite agree with having the driving age THAT young, but you have a point. |

| 580236 | 2007-08-24 04:16:00 | Road Rage? Driver training used to start young in that many more people started out on bicycles and had some clues before they started in cars. Now they're more likely to be just passive passengers. |

It works both ways. If a post offends you, please you the "report bad post" function and do not respond in kind. That icon is the red/B&W triangle with the exclamation mark found in the blue left margin in each post. This thread will be closed if you cannot discuss this topic without resorting to insults. |
