| 760182 | 2009-03-28 09:39:00 | I run Windows and Outlook Express on an XP. My recycle bin is full of .bak files from MY Documents/email. The same files seem to be in My Documents/email folder as .dbx files. Webopedia says .bak files are an autosave procedure, while >dbx files are some sort of file management procedure. My machine is a bit slow at startup (I've checked the startup list), and I would rather like to empty the recycle bin, as some of these .bak files go back a year or two. Is it safe to empty the Recycle Bin? Oliver. |

You can empty your recycle bin, yes, as long as they are older than a week Save to your desktop then run it, then copy and paste the log here. Run CCleaner (www.google.co.nz) to clear your temporary files. Do not tick "Saved Form Information" for firefox and IE if you have saved passwords. Have you defragged lately?
