760743 2009-03-30 06:32:00 My Western Digital 640GB External's AC adaptor has died.
It's a 12V/5V output, and the power connector is a 5 pin DIN, i think.
Where can I get a replacement?
Or, better, is it possible to mod it so that it's powered internally by the power supply?
Thanks!

760744 2009-03-30 06:36:00 You could just remove the hard drive from its case and put it in the PC.

If thats what you mean by "Internally Powered"

... Umm something tells me it's not just a normal 3.5" harddrive inside an enclosure, blam6.
Unless it is.
But I don't think it is.
Is it?

I'm 100% sure it is. What else could it be?

Its pretty much a 3.5" SATA/IDE hard drive inside a flash case that makes it look like it isn't. Give me the model no. and I'll give you at tutorial on how to get the hard drive out
