760480 2009-03-29 19:26:00 in Windows Mail.My sister is using Office 2003 and when she tries to choose to send a doc to a recipient as an email, the option to do so is not selectable.
Any idea how to fix this or is it to do with Office 2003? Thanks.

760481 2009-03-29 19:54:00 You have to make sure Windows Mail has all its defaults. Go to Default Programs, which you can reach either from the Start menu or the Control Panel, then click the first item: "Set your default programs."

After a few seconds a list of programs comes up. Click on Windows Mail. To the right you should then see "This program has all its defaults." If it has less than all of its defaults, fix it by selecting one of the two options indicated by green arrows.

Although why not just Attach the Word Doc from within WIndows mail??

760482 2009-03-29 20:10:00 Thanks pctek,I'll pass it on.She doesn't like attaching it (which works ) as some of her friends don't have Word. And this way it opens in the email body,(so she says).
Thanks again.

760483 2009-03-30 19:10:00 She's just emailed to say that all the defaults are already selected! Anything else she should look for?
Thanks.

Save As .rtf

Which will open in Wordpad.

760485 2009-03-30 21:18:00 From what I've seen you can't. Even in office 07.

You might just have to get her friends to install open office. Which is free
http://www.openoffice.org/

Maybe put that link in her signature?

760486 2009-03-31 05:51:00 go to add /remove programs find office click on it then on change /remove
modify and make sure that, that element of word/office is installed.

or

save files that are to be emailed as rtf. any word processor can open / read that format but you do lose some formatting ability with it As pctek has already said
