582260 2007-08-18 00:45:00 I've started getting e-mails from 'Yahoo' at both my business and personal e-mail accounts about this 'service' and I'm not happy . Not happy twice in a week is not good :annoyed:

I don't care if Telecom/Xtra have decided to get into bed with Yahoo instead of MSN, I have never used Xtra/Msn, I have never told Xtra that they can give my details to their 'partners' (and yes- I'm sure it's in their T&C somewhere that they can) .

I went to the Yahoo 'sign-up' page as there was very little info on the 'bubble' page . . . Ah yes, to get anywhere and find out anything you have to 1st log in with your Xtra account/password (on a Yahoo site!) sign away your soul and once you start on the process it does not give you the option to get out or log off (I guess I'm still logged in) .

There was however this little gem in the Yahoo T&C:

"When you register with Yahoo!7, we ask for your name, email address, birth date, gender, post code, occupation, industry, and personal interests . Once you register with Yahoo!7 and sign in to our services, you are not anonymous to us . "

I laughed my saggy butt off at one

The thing that's really annoying me is that the e-mail from the yahoo spambot . . . oops sorry- yahoo mailbot says that:

"Your mailbox has been upgraded to Yahoo!Xtra Pro Mail" Well- did anyone ask me? No .

I think Xtra needs to be much more transparent about what they are doing in cahoots with Yahoo .

582263 2007-08-18 05:34:00 I got one and bounced it using Mailwasher. Not all that sure what effect it will have but it made me feel better.

582266 2007-08-18 21:13:00 Hmmmm......so if I want to check my e-mails through xtra's Webmail, I have no choice but to sign up for this thing?

Or is lack of sleep taking it's toll and I'm missing something??

Possibly although I don't see why I should need a password just to send email since prior to last night I didn't need one.:groan: :badpc: (That bad pc icon is to represent TELECOM)
