Hi Mark

We will add your name to the list of creditors and post you the letter and claim form to Mark *Removed*

Unfortunately it is unlikely that there will be funds available to meet the claims of the creditors.

HULK WANT TO SMASH !!!!!

I believe that you can make a personal claim against the company owners, if you believe that they have intentionally misled you, or traded illegally, although I suppose you will need proof, which will be difficult. I soulds as though hundreds of people have been affected. You can do this via the disputes tribunal. Unfortionately once a company goes into liquidation or receivership, the accountants are the only winners. I belive that there should be regulation on how much they can charge in this type of situation.
I learnt not to trust these online compnaies after Paymex Ltd went under last year who stated on their website that our money was stored in a trust account, when it wasn't, so now I only pay by credit card.

I could see this happening over a year ago when I had after sales problems after purchasing a new computer that had problems. The problem with their sales model is that they sell on volume, so make very little per transaction. Once that volume falls, such as people stop buying due to the recession, they run into difficulty.

I think it was their website upgrade that put the nails in their coffin. They decided to implement a website that wasn't finished particularly the backend was far from complete this would have lost sales but also put heaps of pressure on staff who then had to field phone calls deal with angry people turning up to their store in Sylvia Park Road. All of this during a recession not a great idea! It's a shame considering their old website was at least better than all those oscommerce clone websites out there.

760521 2009-04-07 01:20:00 If you paid by credit card you are OK as you can contact your bank/card provider and put in a claim .
If you paid by cash/internet banking then you can probably kiss the money goodbye :crying

I puchased an AMD CPU and Gigabyte Motherboard on 31 March with "pick up" selected . The CPU arrived on my doorstep on Thursday 2nd April to my surprise with motherboard on backorder . Rang them Friday and then found out what happened on Saturday . Rang my credit card company (ANZ Bank) who said

"No, credit cards are not covered for this type of incident" .

In fact credit cards will only cover you if the transaction was fraudulant from the outset, i . e . your card number was stolen and used without your permission . A failure to deliver goods after you submitted your card details in good fiath is not a reason for the credit card company to step in . I have been asked to submit a "Customer Transaction Dispute" but I will only recover money of ANZ get money back from C1 Shopping Mall .
Fat Chance!
Oh well it was only $185 so I got off lucky and at least they sent out what they had in stock, i . e . the CPU, so showed at least some honour .

Thats not right.
For instance, I bought a Steam game via an overseas shop. Turned out it was region locked and I couldn't activate it making it useless. The company I bought it from refused to refund me, refused to accept a return and wanted my Steam username and password to "fix" the problem.

I contacted Visa and they enabled the refund 4 weeks later.

But the situation with C1 is its in receivership.

I doubt it.
More like trying to make a profit competing via Pricespy.
Good way to run your business into the ground.

Support your local (decent)PC retailer and this sort of thing won't happen.

Not entirely true, even the best can go out of business, the best customer service in the world does not stop companies going bust, it is bad management that plays a big part in that.

760525 2009-04-07 06:06:00 Ok, so looks like Im not the only one who this is affecting . I purchased a HP 1004TU from them on Monday the 30th March and since then havent heard from them or seen the laptop (seems like I got my hopes up after reading this thread tho . . . )

Currently Ive been to the police over the matter, and am waiting to hear back from the head liquidator .

Im *pretty* annoyed over this, specially since Im a student and claimed the laptop via my loan .

Anyone know what the most likely outcome is? And Im sure if others who have been hit by this, if we band together *maybe* we might be able to get a better response than if we just went it seperately . . .
