| 760497 | 2009-04-03 03:55:00 | So what do we do about warranties. I have just had a 2 year old seagate harddrive fail, which I got from them, and has a 5 year warranty. I suppose we have to contact their distributer or wholesaler for warranty claims. Anyone know who C1 used? They were obviously trying to get quick cash from selling their old website on trademe. I suspect that they have failed due to the credit crisis and recession, as they had to sell on volume due to the small margins you get on computer parts. If you don't get the volume, you end up failing. Man C1 have failed hard. support.seagate.com Start there for a RMA, Seagate are really good. |

Some of those stories on www.gpforums.co.nz are amazing, and it looks like a lot of people have been ripped off. I see pricespy have still got them on their website, so I hope they remove them soon. I actually complained to pricespy about c1 before (as they have a complaints form), after I had had a problem, but they didn't take any notice. |

| 760499 | 2009-04-03 04:06:00 | Hmm... the comment on GPForums says Won Il Kim - Owner of c1 Shopping mall is now heading to the Auckland airport where he and his wife are fleeing NZ back to Korea I suggest if you are in Auckland call the police and get them stopped! A search on the Companies Register shows the current sole shareholder and director is "A-Ra Jo" (see: m.companies.govt.nz). Previous directors are: LEE, Ji Hyun 12-DEC-2002 30-NOV-2006 PARK, Geon Su 12-DEC-2002 09-JUN-2005 PARK, Seong Ill 20-SEP-2006 03-MAY-2007 So the names don't really match up... Thoughts/comments? |

| 760500 | 2009-04-03 04:13:00 | The other thread on C1 showed there were problems looming:- www.gpforums.co.nz I got a refund cheque off them for a cancelled order they could not fill. I might be one of the luckier ones providing they did not keep my CC details. |

Credit card law is very much weighted in the consumer's favour - so if they do something dodgy with your card, your bank will almost always take your side. |

There is no ID verification required to become a company shareholder / director, so it's quite possible that they could have used any old name there. It's also possible they were just negligent with recordkeeping and failed to notify the companies office. |

Just email the details (serial number of the drive, model number) to returns@ascent.co.nz and we'll get this sorted for you. :) |
