| 760399 | 2009-03-29 20:30:00 | Go to the External Hard Drives manufactures web site - look and see if there is an updated driver for the drive. OR is it a drive you put in a external case yourself. Removing SP1 would be pointless as sooner or later it will install any way and the same problem would occur - and if the OS came with SP1 integrated then you cant remove it. What make and model is the External HDD ? |

| 760401 | 2009-03-30 01:33:00 | In that case what you can do is see if its the drive/ drivers or USB enclosure causing the problem. Remove the drive from the enclosure - attach it as a slave drive (after resetting drives jumper) to your PC - see if it boots up OK or if it blue screens as well. Thats assuming your PC has a IDE ribbon or IDE connector and ribbon on the Board. |
