581172 2007-08-16 01:05:00 Hi Mets. Much appreciated. Can you give a brief break-down of your equipment? Enough information to enable a layman to produce similar. Thanks. Scouse (83)

Am on my 3rd attempt at downloading all of it.
Interruptions keep forcing me to reboot.

As you can tell, I'm on Dialup.

Sorry about that,it's easy to forget that others have the misfortune of dial up.

A helmet Camera, Mine came from http://helmetcamera.com.au/ though its much cheaper to just source a bullet camera (but you lose a fair few option), I only went with the more expensive optionn because at the time I was riding mainly off-Road, and I got the old boy and me brother to chip in.

Its then pluged into a DV Camera that I have in a backpack, i have a JVC that I have used for a coupler of years, But have recently stolen my old boys Sony because it allows me to start and stop recording via the LANC(Remote on a wire)

Footage is then captured to PC via a fireware card and Windows Movie Maker.

I then chopped her up into segments using Virtual Dub

Then I assembled the pieces and added music and far too many transition effects using Adobe Premier Elements 3.

I found that for the best quality I had to export as DV and then I encoded into mpeg2 using Super encoder. Every other codec I tried removed the still picture at the start, I must have exported and encoded that sucker 3 dozen times.

(On a side note the speed this rig encodes video impressed the snot out of me)

Short Answer

Helmet Camera
DV Camera
A PC (or Mac:waughh:)
Suitable software (You can do the entire project with Windows Movie Maker if you wanted)
